At SGM Studio, we know that each project is unique, and take the time understand your vision so that we can provide you with a high quality final product. There are many factors that go into the mixing process, and we’re here to assist you through the entire process.
Audio mixing takes place following the recording phase. This process encompasses the combination of multiple sounds to make all parts of the piece come together in a more tonally balanced manner.
The goal here is to create the highest quality version possible. To accomplish this, the mixing engineer will modify the frequency content of your files, add in effects, and alter the spatial position. This tailoring of each sound provides for each instrument to have a space in the final mix.
Preparation and cleanup come first once the mix engineer receives your files. After looking over everything and the engineer is confident they have a solid understanding of the vision for the project, this is where the mix begins. Since there are so many factors that go into this stage, it can be a lengthy process.
To finalize the mix, the job will be sent for approval, and the mixing engineer will prepare for the final stage, stereo mastering or stem mastering.
